Practice
1. During the class, the teacher will make a presentation of the subject to be studied, which is the universe, in which the students must take notes to carry out the following activity.
10
minutes: The
teacher makes a brief explanation and reviews the notes that the students have
taken and clears up doubts that the students have.
40
minutes: The
teacher gives each student an exercise with a crossword, which contains
questions about the subject, they must fill it out so that the students can
then exchange the exercise and give feedback on them, where the teacher will be
pending.
10
minutes: The
students exchange the crossword puzzles to give feedback, then they make an
explanation with the teacher who gives them feedback and each one explains the
concepts they understood.
Crossword
puzzles improve students' retention of information and attention, they develop
skills and abilities; and as a pastime they promote concentration, entertainment,
creativity and the need to be informed in areas both academic and cultural,
which leads to the development of intelligence.
According to Cedeño (1995) and Bello (1995) the objectives of the introduction of crossword puzzles in higher level pedagogical processes are:
• Guarantee
the student habits of collective elaboration of academic decisions.
• Increase
the interest of students and their motivation for the
technical
subjects and language.
• Check the
level of knowledge reached by the students: they rectify the wrong actions and
indicate the correct ones.
• Allow to
solve the problems of correlation of the activities of direction and control of
the teachers, as well as the collective self-control of the students.
• Develop
generalized skills and professional capacities in the practical order.
• Improve
interpersonal relationships, the formation of coexistence habits and make
classes more enjoyable.
• Increase
the level of independent preparation of the students and the teacher has the
possibility of analyzing, in a more detailed way, the assimilation of the
technical content taught.
• Provide a
concrete foundation for conceptual thinking and therefore reduce students'
meaningless verbal responses.
• Have a
high degree of interest for students.
• Make
learning last longer.
• Offer a
real experience that stimulates activity on the part of the students.
