The universe 

What is the universe?

The universe is everything that exists, including all of space, time, matter, and energy. It encompasses all celestial bodies such as planets, moons, stars, galaxies, and the contents of intergalactic space. The universe is constantly expanding, and its size is still unknown.

It is made up of all existing matter and energy, a large part of the observable matter from which it is made is hydrogen and helium and it is also made up of matter that seems to not be able to be directly observed called dark matter and dark energy.

How old is Earth?

Scientists discovered that our planet and the solar system were formed around 4.6 billion years ago by studying the decay of isotopes on Earth and in asteroids, while life on earth existed approximately 3.8 billion years ago, they have also postulated some predictions about the future of the planet where they forecast that within in several billion years, the Sun will expand so much that it could swallow Mercury and Venus and even Earth.

How old is the universe?

According to scientists, the universe appears to be 13.8 billion years old, they arrived at this number by measuring the ages of the oldest stars and the speed at which the universe is expanding, they also considered the light from galaxies because the farther away they are galaxies their light is less visible on Earth.

Big Bang theory

There are several theories about the creation of the universe, however, the Big Bang theory is the most accepted and recognized, it was suggested by a Belgian priest named Georges Lemaitre in the 1920s, this theory states that the universe arose from a single atom with a hot mixture of light and energy where the four fundamental forces (gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces) became one and in seconds that incomprehensibly dense matter expanded outward and as it cooled the first stars and galaxies were created.
